J Renee Spa may have just opened in Adairsville in October 2022, but this is far from a fledgling business. For the last ten years, owner and esthetician, Shelly Todd, has started and ran 4 spas. Originating from Portland, Oregon, Shelly had 3 award winning skincare spas named Revive Skin Services. She then moved to Georgia in 2022 and started J Renee Spa & Boutique. All of her spas have won “Best of” or “Reader’s Choice Awards” in their areas because of Shelly’s facials. In addition to the extensive training and skin knowledge Shelly has, she also offers a tranquil facial experience where the touch is slow, soft and methodic so her clients easily relax and end up utterly stress free after a facial.
Shelly excels in her industry because of her knowledge in all things skin. She has advanced education in hyperpigmentation, the toxicology of cosmetic ingredients, Microdermabrasion, Microneedling, Skin Cancer types and treatments (both from research and personal experiences of Melanoma), Skin Classic High Frequency and has done extensive research on skin conditions like Rosacea, Melasma, Eczema, Dermatitis, Acne. Shelly educates her clients by sending them home with a written skin assessment, product suggestions and samples and a plan for the future.
J Renee Spa has paired with massage therapist, Nancy Fournier with Narje’ Massage and Wellness who is devoted to holistic healing, preventative care and to providing exceptional massage and bodywork services. Whether working through a chronic pain pattern or in need of deep relaxation and rejuvenation, her goal is to personalize each client's experience by fostering a vibrant and continuing sense of well-being. “All of my life I have dealt with oily, blotchy, acne-ridden, sensitive skin, as I suffer from a rare medical condition (MCAS). I tried product after product, facials, dermatologists, drying my skin out in tanning beds, even trying birth control; nothing seemed to work! After several years of suffering, I began doing research, went to Esthetics school as well as many advanced training seminars to learn all I could about skin. I decided it was best to create my own product line for problem, sensitive skin like mine. Home skin care and professional facials are just as important as brushing your teeth and seeing a dentist.”
